Broken camera

Well, I have an update - this time with more words than pictures since the camera is broken! :-( We are not sure what happened, but the lens will no longer open. Obviously we need to replace it ASAP, but for now this post will only have the few pictures taken before the camera broke! They are cute ones though! Shane and Madison continue to absolutely love each other - what a blessing! She lights up when she sees him, laughing hysterically & he runs as fast as he can from wherever he is to see her when she wakes up from a nap. He yells, "Mommy, mommy Maddie is AWAKE!!!!!" May they always love each other this much! These pictures were taken after a morning bath when I was getting them dressed on the floor of Madison's room. They were hugging & kissing - it was so cute!
OK, so those are the last updated pictures - none from Space night at Dan's school or space week, but I do have some cute stories & general updates. Maddie - she is 8 months - no picture yet since the camera is broke... She still only has 2 teeth and loves every food (except avocado) that we have tried with her. She laughs like an old smoker - really it sounds like " Eh, Ehhhhh, Eh" We are all hoping that changes as she grows! It is pretty funny though! She is not crawling yet, but she is so laid back that I think it will really be a while! Shane - he is into everything! He has been waking up super early - 6 AM - and has gotten up while I am in the shower. I actually found him standing on our computer desk trying to reach something one morning last week & this week he got up while I was asleep, I heard him talking looked at the clock (6 AM) & hoped he would go back to sleep! I heard him tell Abby (his Sesame Street stuffed friend) to take a nap and then it got quiet. I thought he fell back asleep so I let myself... He didn't, he turned his monitor off, went downstairs, popped in a video and played with his toys for 30 minutes before I woke up! Mr. Independent! He also likes to help with EVERYTHING and assigns himself several jobs/rolls - he often tells me, "You can't do that - it is a Shane job!" A few weeks ago he was helping me make soup and after we added a 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, I turned to put the measuring spoons in the dishwasher and he dumped in half the bottle... We scooped out as much as possible, but the soup was super hot. We doubled the recipe, but it was still really hot soup! OK, one more Shane update - he is no closer to being potty trained. I am getting panicked here. I mean I know he will not be 5 and in diapers. Correction, I hope he will not be 5 and wearing depends because he grew out of pampers, but this is getting nuts! He will sit on the potty, but only once a day and I am telling you, he will only sit there when he does not have to go! He has never peed on the potty! We have a potty present that he can open when he pees on the potty, but he still has no interest in opening. Well, he is interested, but not enough to pee. He refuses to go without a diaper most of the time and when he does, he pees on the carpet or the floor. Everyone says not to force it, but I am getting desperate here! OK, that is it for now! I hope to be back soon with more pictures! Shane and I (plus my friend Kim & her daughter Isabelle) are going to see Elmo this weekend. I hope she will share some pictures! Shane & Maddie want to wish a happy May birthday to Aunt Jorie & Happy Anniversary to Papa Carolyn & Papa Bob!
